OpenMemphis is a an initiative in Memphis, TN to bring technology with a local focus into the hands of citizens by developing open-sourced software and by curating and hosting crowd-sourced and public data and content. Our aim is to raise the "tech tide" of Memphis by not only providing software tools and information services to Memphians at large, but also by facilitating open, collaborative development which allows anyone to participate in the rewarding experience of contributing to technology development projects We envision a technological ecosystem where the open exchange of software and information enhances the community and serves as a model for other municipalities worldwide.
